OPERATION GANYMED

1977. Stars Horst Frank, Dieter Laser.

Five members of an international space crew return from an interplanetary expedition to find that Earth has been wasted by a nuclear war in their absence. While it's a decent enough film for what it is - good script, good cast, good performances - it's bleak, grim, often slow, and lacking in any real sense of adventure. Recommended only for die-hard fans and people who like gritty doomsday movies with no warm fuzzies attached.
