Made-for-tv children's fairy tale. We like to go easy on kiddie movies (and who ever thought we'd see Prochnow in one?), and ordinarily would have done so with this one even though it's the kind of thing clueless adults think kids just love, and they don't. It's cute enough for a while, but stretching a 1-hour story into 3 hours of film was a bad idea. Prochnow is mind-boggling in a Genghis Kahn act as a really nasty king and abusive father who gets to kick a few butts in this - but maybe not enough of 'em.
