NOTES ON THE REVIEWS

Ratings are on a scale of 1 to 5.

The Goodie Rating refers to Prochnow's role - does he get to do anything good in the movie, and how much fun will you have watching him do it? (Note that this is not an evaluation of his performance. It's a rating of the movie script specifically in regard to the character he plays.)

The Onscreen Rating is an indication of how large the role is. Some of the small parts are a kick, but you have to be pretty serious about Prochnow to watch most of those movies just to see him... and sometimes there IS no other reason to watch the movie. On the other hand, some of us obviously have nothing better to do.

The Movie Rating is a rating for the movie as a whole, regardless of Prochnow's involvement. We do give high ratings to movies that are so bad they're good, but we let you know when we're doing that. See those at your own risk.

And one more thing: no complaints about being too easy on some of these films. We're sufficiently nasty about the ones we don't like. You haven't seen the bag full of bad movies (none of which involved Prochnow) which I lent Linda once and which she tried valiantly to sit through but couldn't. I'd seen every one of them from start to finish.

When you've lived through as many Shelley Winters movies as some of us have, you develop a more reasonable perspective on this kind of thing. And though we tried to be objective about the reviews, I'M the editor and you know what? The scripts aren't Jürgen's fault, and he's a terrific actor. Know what else? I'll watch ANY Prochnow movie a hundred times just because he's in it - as long as he's in it enough. Nyah nyah nyah!

And Roger Ebert is an idiot for not liking THE MAN INSIDE. Linda even approved of that one, and she hates everything.

So lighten up, kids. We're trying to have fun here. -ed.
