1989. Stars Elsa Fourie, Jürgen Prochnow.

A 1947 South African village romance is complicated by racial divides and a dash of xenophobia. Co-produced by Prochnow, this film is an excellent choice for those who find A Dry White Season hard to handle; lacking the same kind of graphic violence, the politics of the era are used here as a backdrop for what is essentially a small-town soap opera - with Prochnow as the champion of equality this time. Eminently watchable, and with something to say, we like this kind of stuff.
