SHIRINS HOCHZEIT

1975. Stars Ayten Erten.

A story about the trials of a Turkish woman who moves to Germany to search for her fiance. Meant to be something of an expose to engender sympathy for the Turkish population in Germany, the movie has a documentary feel to it and is carried almost wholly by Erten, who's a real treat to watch. Prochnow has a very small supporting role as a really obnoxious pimp who still manages to be pretty charming compared to most of the other men in this movie.
